Getaway weekend

I love my kids very much, but I am so very much looking forward to this weekend. My beloved and I will be getting out of town - just the two of us. We are going to her 20th High School reunion and leaving the kids with some friends overnight. Twenty four hours, well almost a full day. No kids, just me and my beloved. It should be a nice evening... about an hour and half drive... check into a hotel... then meet up with one of her friends from school...the reunion... and then a good nights sleep... no kids staying up too late... no kids getting up too early. It will be nice to relax and eat casually, sleep casually, wake up casually... and then have a liesurly drive home... then the chaos starts again Sunday night. I have started a savings plan... well, I now have two of them, that I use to have one-on-one time with my beloved. The first one is for date nights... sort of. For every day I spend away, for time the odometer on the vehicle I am driving trips a 100 mile mark, and for one other reason which I will not expound upon here... I drop $1 into the 'bank'. As these add up I will take the money out from time to time to spring for a night out. We still have the occasional date night and all, but this money is used for a 'surprise' time... or when the budget is a little tight. The other account I have just started. Last spring DS1 got involved in little league baseball. Well to cut some of the costs we agreed to sell candy as a fund raiser. I sold the boxed I had at work in record time. Even after the fund raiser was over my coworkers kept coming up to me to ask for more candy to sell to them. I explained that the fund raiser was over, but they said I should go to one of those discount bulk stores and pick up some to sell to them... so I have. My little 'candy store' has maybe ten different items. I sell them pretty much at cost, but with the amount of candy I have been selling I make about $20 a month. Not great, but hey it's something. So that money now goes into a seperate "bank" and I hope to surprise my beloved with a getaway weekend for our 15th anniversary next year. It won't be enough to pay for the whole trip - but it will cut the impact of it. Well, that is all I have for this day... sorry it took me so long to post today. May the Lord grant each of you a wonderful weekend enjoying His maginificent grace. Verse for today: Psalm 145:1-9, esv I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

I was very happy to see the Panthers beat the Bucs.. but I was not happy about what happened to Chris Simms.

I hope it recovers fully and quickly...
