Ah the joy of being a part of a community
Although I have never butted heads with an HOA I am learning how to deal with them now. Since I went ahead and put in my swing set I have to submit an after the fact "Architectural Change Review" form. *sigh* I am not overly worried, but the builder - who owns over 50% of the lots in my sub-division and has the approval authority - is not known for being a nice guy.
The swing set looks pretty nice. I almost finished it last night but a thunderstorm chased my inside before I could complete the "child's horse" and get the anchors in place. One thing that I was pretty pleased with was I had the excuse to purchase my own power tools. Man, I am 39 and just getting my first power tools! What kind of man am I! ;-)
I have two more projects to float by the HOA. The first one is for a patio. Nothing extravagent. About 350 square feet (at most). And the other is to put in some submerged drainage pipes to allow the water from my gutters to be sent away from the house. I live on the top of a hill and all, but in a few areas I am seeing some drainage issues so...
Well, that's about it for me today. Pretty busy at work, plus trying to get my internal sleep clock reset.

Jeff - NP man. Ignorance is really a matter of perspective - and mostly it takes time to learn about things. For my part, there are many, many things I am ignorant about. And I am reminded of many of them everyday as my children ask me questions. :) To let you know - I do not find your position as 'ignorant'. You are just citing your preferences. All I want to do is encourage you to investigate what you believe so you may know why you believe it. As Christians we are belittled and put down as those who are closed minded. Until you take the time to investigate and really get a grip on why Christianity is real and something that is firm - there will always be those that are better debators than you (and me). But I find debate and statistics easily manipulated. Know what you know, and why you know it. :)
