Coffee break

I received a copy of this in my e-mail. With nothing more "deep" to go with today I thought I'd just share it... A group of alumni, established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. The conversations soon turned into complaints about stress at work and with life. Offering his guests coffee, the proffessor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - some were porcelain, some plasitc or glass or crystal. Some were plain, some expensive others quite intricate. When he returned he told his guests to help themselves. After all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the proffessor: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress." "Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it's just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consiously went for the best cups, and then began eyeing each other's cups." "Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life, and the type of cup does not define nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups... enjoy your coffee. Updates: None today - yet Verse for today: Psalm 36:7-9, esv How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.
