Music Monday - 20100125

What a rough couple of days/week.  Whatever it is that has been waking me up in the middle of the night seems to have gone in to hyperdrive. When i am really trying to sleep, even when my body/mind does not want me to, i sleep on my stomach, but this is causing me to have pretty bad neck pain and headaches.  So, it is either wake up several times in the night, or deal with neck pain.  I'd rather not sleep to be honest with you.

Well, as a result of being tired all of the time and grouchy as a result i have been feeling... well, depressed is probably the most accurate.  If any of my handful of readers have ever felt depressed i am sure you can relate when i say that you feel totally unworthy of approaching God.  Completely inadequate to do anything for, or with, God.  So, on my way to work i heard this song on the radio, and while this resonated with me as a future desire, it can also be taken as my current state - whether i feel it or not.

Sweet Sweet Sound
Sarah Reeves

I am an instrument of the living God
My life a melody to His name
More than the songs I sing
Worship is everything
I live to glorify my King

Hear the song of my life
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
I raise this anthem high
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound

Through all the mire and clay
You're washing me with grace
You carry me, oh Lord, through it all
So I will testify even in the fire
I live to praise my Savior

Hear the song of my life
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
I raise this anthem high
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound

Let everything that has breath
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord
And all creation will sing Hallelujah

Hear the song of my life
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
I raise this anthem high

Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound

While i may not be a perfect vassal in that i am still walking through this world and i am not home with the Lord yet, He has seen me.  He knows my past, my present, and my future.  What an awesome God that while he saw me in this state (in all three tenses), He still sent His Son, my Lord Jesus Christ to die on the Christ to pay the penalty for my sin.  That i might be born again.  And then on the third day He rose from the grave to defeat death once and for all.  Praise God in the highest!

Yesterday i too DS1 to see the movie To Save a Life.  What a powerful movie.  It is about a High School senior dealing with the suicide death of his boyhood friend.  I will not post spoilers here, but there are a lot of issues that many Christians have to deal with - and not just High School 'kids'.  I highly recommend going to see this movie.  My Beloved had to encourage me to go (to spend time with DS1), but i am very grateful that she did.  I would not mind seeing it again that's for sure.
