The Agasi era is over

I couldn't help myself. I watched the entire match. Agasi nearly pulled it off. He had Becker a little worn out, but Agasi's body just couldn't take the pounding anymore. By the end he was severly hobbled. I could see his back was in pain, because my back gives me problems from time to time too. I know why Andre had to do it... but I didn't want it to end either. My beloved and I were talking about it some this weekend. She asked if I thought he would try the senior's tour, but I don't think so. Maybe, but I am not so sure. Then this weekend two other events sort of brought my own mortality to heart. One was a father murdering his two sons and then killing himself, and the other was the death of the "Crocidle Hunter". I liked Mr. Steve Irwin. How could you not? I may not have agreed with him on all fronts about the environment, but I know I coule never have refuted his evidences. Or his passion about wildlife or the environment. In my little world there is a reason wild animals are called 'wild'. You will not catch me willingly coming within 5 meters of one unless there is some form of restraint involved. And he appeared to know his business. He knew how an animal would react in a given situation, he new their strengths and weaknesses, and he knew how to conduct himself around them. But in the end it was just an animal reacting to a perceived threat. I have not seen the video footage of the animal's attack, nor do I want to. But it apparently surprised even the camera man as he did not even know it had happened until he saw the blood. The world is a lesser place without him in my opinion. The other was the murder/suicide at Sherpherd University. That hit close to home because my beloved and many of our friends have either attended or graduated from there. I have heard rumors as to the motive, but I am not anyone assigned to the case, nor am I close to the family, so all I have is conjecture. But the sad thing is that a 40 something, a 26 and a 24 year old are now dead. They were in the middle of things. The two young men were seniors in college. They had friends, they had projects due, they had things going on in their lives. What also hit me was that in the middle of these four men I have mentioned here (and many, many others I do not even know about) the world did not stop. It did not even slow down. And although it drew my attention - even my own life did not hickup. I still had to trim the hedges, I still had to make sure the kids were fed. Just amazing... we trouble and worry and work hard... I am glad I have some hope to look forward to when my turn upon the earth has come to an end. Updates: Necromunda campaign - pending Verse for the day: Revelations 21:9-27, esv Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed— on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. The city lies foursquare; its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia. [4] Its length and width and height are equal. He also measured its wall, 144 cubits [5] by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement. The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass. The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Yea Agasi is finished, and I was watching an interview with an old gray headed man the other night that looked familiar. It was McEnroe. He looks older than me.

I liked the Crocodile Hunter to. You just couldn't help but like him and his enthusiasm. He will be missed my millions.

I too know what you mean about the world keeps going. I thought the exact same thing when my son died. My world had come to a standstill but the real world never even slowed. But that is reality................
